You will only need a permit if the skip will be situated on a public highway and we will arrange it for you. If it is on private property you won’t need one.

If your skip is to be placed on a public highway (which includes pavements, roads and verges) it is a legal requirement that the skip is illuminated over night for safety. We can provide special, hard wearing, self illuminating lights at a flat rate of £24 for the duration of your skip hire.

4yd to 16yd skips can weigh a maximum of 8 tonne; 20yd and 40yd can weigh a maximum of 15 tonne.

Our trained operatives will talk to you about your specific requirements and they will be able to determine the type of skip you need.
All kinds of general waste can be put in a skip. You cannot put in food waste, electrical items or hazardous waste such as asbestos, chemicals, oils or fridges, but please call us on 0800 169 1243 if you are unsure and need some advice. The skip hire lasts for 7 days but you can keep it for longer at a charge of £12 per week. Just call us on 0800 169 1243 to extend your hire period.
