This contract covers the segregation, recycling and disposal of non-hazardous general and recycling waste. Along with electrical and hazardous waste and a confidential shredding service.

Innovations
A&P have a requirement for their waste service to be carried out on a quick turnaround when a ship docks, this rapid response includes the removal of their hazardous and non-hazardous waste, O’Brien consistently achieve these deadlines. A&P often have numerous ships docked at one time and our service ensures full transparency relating to container movements relevant to each ship and a bespoke weekly report detailing all information relating to their waste.
O’Brien have worked with A&P to increase on-site recycling and reduce costs. Due to the large scale of the site our collection teams have site plans to ensure all bin locations are serviced. In partnership with A&P we have developed a waste guide book which includes examples taken from their site to highlight good practice and continuous improvement.
A&P produce large quantities of mixed scrap and new production steel, for which we offer market leading rebates. We also provide various containers and collections using skip wagons, roll on / roll offs or specialist vehicles depending on the size and nature of the metals to be removed.
O’Brien work closely with the EHS officers and docking and berthing managers to provide further recycling direct from the ships using containers specific to their needs as well as a fully segregated waste compound for site waste.
Achievements
O’Brien agreed a 5 year contract extension with A&P for Tyne and Tees sites. This is great testament to our extremely high standards of service and the continuous improvements we make for our clients.
O’Brien has achieved on-site recycling rates of 70% – 80% on A&P Tyne and Tees Sites.
