Upon recently reading about the plight of Revd Dr Nicholas Buxton, of St John the Baptist in Newcastle, O’Brien Waste Recycling stepped in to supply two general waste bins to be emptied on a weekly basis free of charge until further notice.

Nathan O’Brien, Managing Director for O’Brien Waste Recycling commented:

“I saw the article in the Chronicle about the Reverend losing his council bins and felt that this was something we could help with. Where possible we are always happy to give back to the community”.

Dr. Buxton commented:

“We are absolutely delighted that O’Brien have offered to help us out with this. The churchyard at St John’s is one of the very few public recreational spaces in the city centre, enjoyed by local residents, workers and visitors to the city alike. Being so close to Newcastle Central station, thousands of commuters and shoppers walk past here every day. Unfortunately, however, we get quite a lot of anti social behaviour in the grounds, which is why it is so important to try and keep the place clean and tidy for the benefit of all”.

O’Brien Waste Recycling celebrates its 10th anniversary in October 2016. During that time it has grown to a £30m turnover organisation with employees across 6 facilities. The business operates 6 MRFs (Material Recycling Facility) in the region and has recently started further development works at its Teesside Recycling Centre. Their goal is to continuously provide innovative solutions, great value, environmentally friendly and reliable waste recycling solutions.
