North East based O’Brien Waste Recycling Solutions are to invest £6M to build an all new dry-mixed material recycling facility in Hartlepool. The development is on the same site as their existing skip waste recycling MRF (mixed recycling facility), which opened last year and sees the growing regional firm continue its expansion in the Teesside area.
The business also has a vehicle and plant fleet maintenance operation in Hartlepool, which is central to its North East operation. The new build follows back to back contract wins in the area which will see O’Brien processing household recycling waste for Middlesbrough and Durham County Council. The expansion in the area will bring a planned 50 new jobs into the Teesside area within the next 9 months, secured for at least 5 years.
Development will not stop here however, with plans afoot to build a specific glass MRF on the same site, which will enable the rapidly expanding business to process glass materials produced by regional householders.
